It is not hard to find a massage
therapist any more. However, it is difficult to find a really good massage
therapist that is expert at injury rehabilitation and medical massage.
Massage therapy is effective physical medicine that can help
those who have been injured get back to pre-accident health. It not only aides
the directly affected/injured areas, but it also can help the body to heal
holistically by helping it get back to its' natural state of balance and well
being. This is one reason why massage therapy is a great way to complement
other therapies, including chiropractic and physical therapy, which your
insurance benefits will allow you to do in tandem with massage as needed.
AUTO ACCIDENT / PIP
If you are a Florida resident, it is
important to know that even the most basic car insurance policy provides a
minimum of $10,000 in medical payments benefits. These benefits can and should
be used to obtain the best and most effective treatments possible.
At ACFW&L, we want to encourage
those who have been injured to think like a smart consumer when considering
different therapy strategies. There are many clinics that will burn through
huge chunks of these benefits with all kinds of tests and using expensive
machines. $10,000 seems like a lot, but it can go fast too. It is up to you to
determine how these benefits are used - and to think twice before leaving
decisions about how your benefits are used to ANYONE who stands to gain by
billing them as quickly as possible. If there’s any good news for those injured
in an accident, it’s that auto insurance policies cover massage therapy
services (when prescribed).
At ACFW&L, we don't bill for ANY tests
or machines - everything we do is 100% hands-on effective therapy aimed at
getting you better. It's no wonder that so many of our injury patients continue
to depend on us to make a full recovery, while seeing their benefits last a lot
longer than they might otherwise by going to a clinic with expensive test after
test, machines, etc.
WORKER'S COMPENSATION
If you’ve sustained an injury at work and
have a workers’ compensation claim, when prescribed by a doctor and
authorized by your workers comp case manager, you could be eligible
to receive Massage Therapy at no out of pocket cost.
We are happy to file all of your PIP or
workers compensation insurance papers, and we do all of your insurance claim
billing in a timely manner.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
Your physician must state what
condition, accident injury or illness, the massage therapy is expected to
provide relief from. Generally this must be included on the written order or
prescription and is best expressed as an ICD-9 code, a code that stands for
your condition and understood by insurance companies when processing your auto
/ car insurance or workers compensation claim.
The written prescription must say how
often massage therapy treatment should occur and how long the regimen should
last. The physician should feel free to consult with us, the massage therapist,
about this, as well as to discuss ongoing treatment strategies.
All the paperwork must be filled out
prior to receiving medical / insurance massage therapy, and you must agree to
allow us, the massage therapist to share information with your physician and
insurance company. You also must agree to have the auto / car insurance company
to pay A Center For Wellness and Light, Inc. directly. And if there is a
co-pay, you will be responsible for that at the time of service.
